Mexican Treats

My sister gave me this Mexican Atole! I always thought Atole was a blended vegetables and chicken but this appears to be a milkshake type mixture. Coconut is my favorite. I can't wait to try it :D

Also, take a look at these totally awesome fossil cards! They were one of the gifts given at our Thrift Store Christmas gift exchange by our friend Ana. The art on the cards is inspiring!

Also check out the awesome cat sketch my sister found for me. Lazy kitties!

1990's

I'm gearing up for a 1990's themed slumber party next weekend. On the top of my to-do list is to recreate this vest worn by Blossom Russo for myself! Isn't it fab!?

I've got some old black satin that I will be piecing together to build the actual vest. The keyboard pattern will be created with a silvery fabric that I have and do not know exactly how I obtained (probably from my friend Greg!) I still haven't figured out a plan on the metallic synthesizer thing below the keyboard. I hope I can find some fabric that looks similar. I'm debating on whether or not to add buttons on the vest yet. Anyway, I'm hoping to get started on this project by tomorrow!

Just for the heck of it, I googled some of my favorite things I can remember growing up.

And these shows bring back just as many memories as all the rest, even though they began airing prior to the 90's. Still some of my berry favorites!

The Life of a Cereal Box

This is a neat video that shows what happens to a box after you recycle it.

I've just discovered you can actually "recycle for rewards!" This means that products that you recycle will offer incentives for recycling. By recycling my Kashi cereal box which cost $4 (for each box), I will gain 50 recycle points. 75 points will earn me a $2 off coupon! This is fantastic considering how many boxes I buy and how fast I go through a box. You can also collect points by interacting on their website.

I hope these incentives inspire more people to recycle. Check out www.recyclebank.com to find out more and start earning points for rewards! Why not! It's easy and free and more importantly, it helps the environment! What could be better!
