I've just discovered you can actually "recycle for rewards!" This means that products that you recycle will offer incentives for recycling. By recycling my Kashi cereal box which cost $4 (for each box), I will gain 50 recycle points. 75 points will earn me a $2 off coupon! This is fantastic considering how many boxes I buy and how fast I go through a box. You can also collect points by interacting on their website.
